Summary: Previously served as the Assistant Director of Performance Nutrition for Baylor University.

The mission of Baylor University Performance Nutrition department is to provide evidence-based nutritional counseling, educational materials, and resources to the entire student-athlete community, with a special focus on Football. 


Major Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and counseling for sport-specific and gender-specific recommendations regarding optimal body composition and weight for good health and optimal athletic performance.
  • Assess and counsel athletes on medical-related nutrition concerns utilizing appropriate Medical Nutrition Therapy techniques
  • Advances during travel games to: confirm nutrition-specific hotel accommodations, confirm hotel BEOs, manage catering/snack confirmations, and organize travel snack & hydration scheduling
  • Provide consistent communication to coaching staff, strength & conditioning staff, athletic trainers, team physicians, sport psychologist, and administration regarding sports nutrition and sports performance related issues.
  • Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary, integrated performance team charge with screening, treatment and prevention of disordered eating and eating disorders as necessary.
  • Develop nutritional education materials, programs, and events on various nutrition topics meeting the needs of the student-athlete population.

  • Evaluate sports supplements, including research of herbal supplements for legality, safety, quality, and efficacy, and continual research of the changing sports supplement industry.

  • Responsible for assisting with ordering, inventory, and procurement of goods through necessary vendors and caterers for all Football fueling stations.
